The Tyler Adams House is gaining in popularity as a weekend lodging spot, but we have also found increasing interest for week day stays. Here are 10 reasons why you might want to consider staying there during the week.

  1. We're close to WKU. A short drive or walk is all it takes to get you to the WKU campus. Maybe you are in town for one of the campus sporting events, or maybe you are attending to one of the many conferences being held on campus. No need to navigate Scottsville Road. In fact, if you are really ambitious and in good physical condition, you can get along without a car at all! This map shows a good walking route to the center of the campus:

  3. Comrades! We humans are social creatures, and the Tyler Adams house is designed to bring people together. Picture yourself relaxing with other travelers in our living room.
  4. No need to eat out every meal. Our kitchen boasts all you need to prepare decent meals and to have more money left to devote to other things. Stop by the grocery store on your first night, label your food and put it in the refrigerator, and you can eat in as often as you like. You can be a frugal traveler and still have the time of your life!
  5. Explore historic Bowling Green without getting into your car. Do you enjoy history, or just taking an urban hike? The Tyler Adams house is moments away from numerous historic gems. Be sure to stroll down to the Fountain Square. If you have more time, take in the "Heritage Walk".
  6. Splurge at some fine dining options. After a few days of eating in to conserve cash, you may want to take a short walk to find nearby dining options, You'll find the always reliable Mellow Mushroom, with gluten free and vegan options (Their vegan pizza is good). Over on College Street you will find "The Bistro" for elegant dining. Also recommended are Tea Bayou, Verdi, Spencers, Brickyard Cafe, 440 Main. Soon to open is the famous Steamer Seafood, with seafood that is out of this world.
  7. Take care of business. If you are in town for a business conference or on a business trip of some type, you may want to have some quiet time with just you and your computer. Fortunately, we are equipped with high speed internet all over the building. Also, a number of our rooms have study desks that will allow you to get some uninterrupted work time. Or, if you prefer, the Bowling Green Library is just down the street.
  8. We're a great home base for exploring the region. If caves are your thing, Mammoth Cave is a short drive away, and just out Nashville Road you will be able to take an underground boat tour at Lost River Cave and Valley. Or, if you are a car fan, visit the Corvette Museum! Other options abound as well. Check out Chaney's Dairy Barn, or, you can go fishing at Barren River Lake, For nature and art lovers, The Baker Arboretum is a little known natural treasure with its own art museum.
  9. A room for every taste and budget. Maybe you are on a very tight budget and don't mind sharing a bathroom. Or maybe you want your privacy and had rather not share a kitchen or bathroom.
